Comtrust – the SAP Contact Center specialized partner announced the signing of contract and implementation in the Hungarian Sole-Mizo – the Bonafarm Group company. This is the first implementation of the SAP Contact Center solution on the food market in Central and Eastern Europe.

The implementation project for customer service in Bonafarm Group includes SAP CRM and SAP Contact Center. The agreement was signed in April this year and after 6 months the two systems have been integrated and started. During next steps of the implementation both systems will be expanded on all the company branches. Polish team is responsible for the telecommunications and contact center part and integration with SAP CRM as well.

“The contract was won in the tender process in which we had started together with Hostlogic – Hungarian SAP partner – said Piotr Pytlakowski, President of Comtrust. Bonafarm is our next SAP Contact Center implementation in Hungary. Last year we implemented SAP Contact Center and integrated it with SAP CRM in Hungaropharama – pharmaceutical warehouse, and two years ago – in EDV Hungarian Water Works.”

More and more companies, as well as in Poland, decide to support their customer service operations with two SAP systems dedicated this area – CRM and contact center. Thanks to the integrated environment companies gain a powerful tool with extensive functionality. Costs of implementation and maintenance are much lower in comparison to infrastructure based on different vendors solutions.

Sole-Mizo is a Hungarian milk production company with 5 factories (four in Hungary and one in Serbia). Sole-Mizo products are popular in Hungary and the Balkan countries, particular in Kosovo, Bosnia, Macedonia and Romania. The company employs 700 workers.

Why is Hungary a good environment for software developers?

HostLogic’s services from international perspective – BBJ interview

In Hungary there are a lot of good developers, education is good, and, as the example of HostLogic shows, a company founded in Hungary can also be awarded with the worldwide SAP-qualification, since it can meet international standards.

How would you describe your products and services?

What does the software you are developing do?
HostLogic is a business IT company. We offer all kinds of business support for SAP technology. Our services range from classical enterprise resource planning (ERP) through business analytics activities (reporting, planning, business simulation) and customer relationship management (CRM) to IT systems customized for special business processes. We can deliver all these applications with the newest technologies. Lately it has been our key objective to increase the use of mobile solutions.

There are two fundamental features characterizing HostLogic that enable it to deliver these business services. Firstly, it can provide the business services listed above in many versions for all possible contexts, extending from a completely in-house model to a cloud-based service of IT operation. Secondly, HostLogic can offer its applications within the framework of HANA, SAP’s unique and revolutionary development, a technological solution based on so-called “in-memory computing,” which makes business applications exceptionally effective and gives them unprecedented performativity. HANA is a mixture of improving hardware speed and radically new software data management. SAP has long been a market leader in business applications, and now these products also work at an extraordinary speed.

If you offer ERP services, do you attempt to provide all the software a company needs? Can you provide a customized solution for everything?

Since HostLogic works with SAP technology, we can cover the full range of enterprise resource planning, which now includes not only the classical tripartite structure of finance, logistics, and production, but, according to the latest conception of ERP, the SAP support of full business collaboration, as well. Our company can provide a unique service of scaled SAP software solutions for both small and medium enterprises as well as companies, regardless of whether they are local or multinational businesses.

In the past fifteen years, HostLogic has made it its priority to provide tailor-made solutions for each industry which cater for the specific needs and productive processes of the industry in question. As a result, HostLogic now has more than fifteen industry-specific solutions and develops customized solutions as well.

Has your company made any innovations of which you are particularly proud?

In the past few months we have developed several HANA-based applications for local and international companies that we are particularly proud of, since they are pioneering solutions even on a global scale. One of these products is a business intelligence solution based on HANA (in-memory computing), developed for the biggest multinational producer of energy appliances. The solution is unique not only in its extraordinary speed but also in that it retrieves data from a large number of heterogeneous business systems that work with different code sets, and turns these data into unified logistics performance indexes for each EMEA companies within the whole business group, while it also presents them with the help of a set of cutting-edge visualization tools.

Apart from that, we are also very proud of our solutions developed for the various industries, especially our solutions for cheese and dairy producers, which have even attracted the attention of a US cheese firm, similarly to our solution developed for mechanical engineering and processing companies.

Who are your major clients?

HostLogic offers services in various segments. As such, the customers of our small business solutions are predominantly Hungarian small and medium enterprises looking for generic software.

Our medium business solutions are commonly provided for companies that would like to control their increasingly complicated business processes, or plan to improve their business volume by involving new customers, new markets, or new products.

Most of our big company clients typically use a previously implemented SAP system, and they look for ways to utilize its potentials more effectively. They also wish to develop their business performance by way of increasing the efficiency of their SAP.

At the same time, we have a number of big company clients that want to have customized software developed for themselves, since they struggle with problems related to processing capacity. For them HANA is the perfect solution.

Are your customers spread around the world, or does your business depend on contacts with locals? How important is it that you meet with your clients face-to-face?

Our small business clients are typically Hungarian; a number of our medium enterprise clients are based in Hungary but carry out business in the CEE region, and some of them subsidiaries of multinational companies. In the large company sector we have several clients who involve us in international projects overarching a number of countries.

The hosting and cloud services of HostLogic are provided in thirteen countries.

As a rule, HostLogic makes long-term contracts with its clients, both for services of SAP implementation according to HostLogic’s project methodology, and for various outsourcing solutions. These processes must entail daily contact with the client, since they involve not only IT support but the support of business processes. We build a relationship of trust with our clients, so face-to-face meetings are vital for both parties.

How much consultation is required with your customers?

As has been pointed out, HostLogic offers a variety of solutions. Some of our products are generic, install-and-use type of software, while a number of our solutions made for medium enterprises are specifically developed for certain industries. These can be tailor-made to the business in question in a very specific way, but if that’s the case, we naturally need more consultations with the client before implementation. We have a proven project methodology for both cases. In our experience, the potential clients who contact us with the purpose of gathering information about SAP have already followed a conscious business plan and have clear-cut ideas as to how to develop their business in the future.

Why is Hungary a good environment for software developers?

In Hungary there are a lot of good developers, education is good, and, as the example of HostLogic shows, a company founded in Hungary can also be awarded with the worldwide SAP-qualification, since it can meet international standards. We have very motivated IT professionals in Hungary who have the same qualifications as their western colleagues, but at the same time Hungarian prices are cheaper than their Western European counterparts, so our services are more competitive.

The Hungarian market also remains competitive in comparison with services with offshore prices, since Hungarian developers are much more productive.

Why should customers choose you?

Because we can provide a solution for each and every business process, and instead of an IT approach we follow a business approach. This also contributes to making our clients not only satisfied but successful and able to achieve their goals. We have seen our clients not only fulfill their business objectives but very often exceed them. Of course, it is always the companies that should be credited for such achievements, but we would like to think that our services have played a part in their success. We provide SAP guarantee with our solutions, and we also offer a number of various operation models. Our prices are competitive, we can relate to the needs of the different industries, have very good references, and possess HANA, the technology of the future. HostLogic has the perfect size of a company that has stabilized its position both in terms of experience and capital, but remains small enough to avoid inducing a sense of loss and insignificance in its customers. Our clients and their satisfaction are our priority, so we give them all the attention they need and deserve.

HostLogic is the best SAP Partner in 2011

By | News | No Comments

The success of the company in 2011 is hallmarked by two SAP partner awards and a turnover of over HUF 1.5 billion.

Budapest, 16 April 2012 – The turnover of HostLogic Ltd.has risen above HUF 1.5 billion again since the economic crisis, which may be explained by the upswing in the field of IT investments and the efficiency-oriented strategy of the company. Apart from the financial results, the two SAP awards that were awarded by SAP Hungary Kft to HostLogic meant important feedback to the company.

In the past year the Hungarian and international clients of HostLogic Ltd. expanded with mainly export oriented and manufacturing companies. Due to this expansion and the continuous growth of services provided for our long-term clients not only the level of the turnover but its structure moved to the positive direction.

The performance of HostLogic Ltd. has been appreciated both by SAP Hungary Ltd. and our clients. Based on the results reached last year, HostLogic Ltd. received in March 2012 the award for the best partner in the SAP Business All-in-One category, and based on its turnover it was ranked first among partner companies offering SAP Business One solutions.

“Our results show that the applied structural changes and technological investments have been successful and the efficacy indicators of our business have returned to the levels before the economic crisis,” said Zoltán Görbics, the managing director of HostLogic Ltd. and added, that “We are really glad to be able to sign long-term contracts in our international advisory business line again.” The company offers special advisory activity not only in Europe, but like in 2011, it conducts remote project duties in Singapore or in the United States of America this year as well.

Trends in the market

“We experience that successful companies are more likely to spend on IT even in times of ecnomic recession, however, companies affected by the crisis held back their developments for 1-2 years. Last year even this segment thought that it was worth investing into the area of IT.” said Attila Molnár, the business unit manager of HostLogic Ltd. and stressed that they had been working with numerous clients who, instead of overall big projects, focused on the development of the IT background of distinct functions – like controlling.
Like in the past years, 2011 was the year of optimising costs. According to the experience of HostLogic Ltd. manufacturing is a highlighted process in the businesses of companies, where significant savings may be realized. This is particularly true for the food industry, where due to the perishable ingredients being up-to-date and on-time tracking is even more important.

Continuously developing hosting services

In the past two years HostLogic initiated its most significant investments in the field of hosting, resulting in the rise of service quality, and due to the faster implementation it can serve upcoming market demands in a stagnant market. Concerning the management of storage capacity, HostLogic has become one of the biggest IBM partners in Hungary. The virtual server technology (for example cloud computing) makes it possible to meet almost every demand in the market in an extremely short period of time not only in Hungary, but in almost every country of the region, which is justified by the gradual expansion of hosting clients from Turkey.
The services of the company are used by Hungarian SME-s, regional and international companies, multinational companies because they offer top-end quality standard technologies on a compatible price.

Plans for the future

Investment remains a key element in the business strategy of HostLogic, which on the one hand aims technological innovation, and on the other the expansion of the services. Apart from strengthening its SME positions in Hungary and expanding international SAP services, HostLogic Ltd. still finds its small company abilities important both in the domestic and regional markets. As small companies are also present beside the big and medium sized companies in industries and company groups, HostLogic intends to “speak” all the three languages to offer standardized IT solutions.

Hungarian firm HostLogic recertified as an SAP® hosting partner

By | News | No Comments
[:en]

Growing demand for hosting services

Hungarian firm HostLogic Inc. has the highest level of SAP Hosting Service in the CEE region, for the firm has recently been recertified as an SAP® hosting partner. The certification audit result for HostLogic reached the level ‘Advanced,’ the second highest of the three levels defined by SAP, denoting the quality of hosting services delivered by a hosting partner.

HostLogic provides hosting services in nine countries within the region, and 70 percent of its sales returns are the result of the specific technological background HostLogic has built. As the demand for IT services is growing, more and more midsized enterprises and large corporations require hosting services all around the world, including in Eastern Europe.

HostLogic has been a certified SAP hosting partner since 2002. Certified SAP hosting partners must be recertified every other year. In addition, HostLogic is the only SAP hosting partner in Eastern Europe that has passed the certification audit twice at the “Advanced” level.

All around the world there are 116 certified SAP hosting partners that provide hosting services for SAP applications and the SAP NetWeaver® technology platform.

Why is it worth investing into the development of a world standard service system, especially for a Hungarian business? Zoltán Görbics explained that their high level technological competence has enabled the firm to establish regional service capacity, which means that they can provide services not only in Hungary but also in the nine countries in the geographical triangle marked by Greece, Poland and Russia. Moreover, SAP recommends HostLogic to those potential customers who want hosting services that are of high technological standards, which also contributes to the growing number of customers and services. Finally, as a result of effective technological solutions, the SAP software knowledge base has become easily accessible to Hungarian medsized enterprises as well. Combining hosting with operational structures that follow best practices, HostLogic can provide affordable services for SAP applications to these companies.

Thirty percent of HostLogic’s total 1.5 billion HUF sales returns come directly from hosting services, and another 40 percent is the indirect result of those services for midsized businesses, in which the technology has a role. So a significant portion – approximately 70 percent – of the company’s turnover comes from hosting.
Companies are demanding an increasingly higher level of IT infrastructure, which is also apparent from the growing number of Eastern European data centers and the servers located within them. According to Zoltán Görbics, IT organizations are bound to cooperate with hosting providers in order to build and maintain new background environments in which business results are ensured. Thus, the majority of recent IT investments, which are meant to meet the growing demands of large corporations, can bring sales returns for professional service providers. This is due to the fact that most companies either lack needed IT capabilities that are necessary for the execution of new tasks or their present systems need add ons to work effectively. Some customers ask for our assistance in their system changeover; others would like to have long-term services, an infrastructure operated for years. This explains why more and more medsized businesses and large corporations are requiring the services of hosting providers around the world.

ERP – How much is enough?

How to calculate ROI for ERP?

A question frequently asked in connection with IT procurement, whether it is ERP, CRM or BI, is how benefits and advantages really can be measured?

How can we calculate return on investment? The SAP ROI (Return On Investment) tool tailored by HostLogic Kft. to the specific needs of the FMCG sector offers a practical answer to these questions. A few examples of the data used for calculating return on investment : productivity, optimization of stocks, accuracy of bonus calculation, reduction in administrative costs. Though the weight of parameters need to be determined on an individual basis, factors accumulated from previous implementation experience can give us a good idea of expectable return on investment. It is not at all evident that investment is returned more slowly for more expensive systems, and more rapidly for less expensive ones. 15 parameters have to be examined in order to get an accurate picture. SAP based solutions have been developed by HostLogic Kft. for a wide range of SME-s in several sectors during the past 15 years. Solutions developed for the food sector have been in use by many clients for years. Issues of food safety, special pricing for retail chains, recording of items in different measures are all given special attention. The system can also be linked directly to the IT systems of partners, suppliers and customers, and provide management support information.

Unique solution from HostLogic for the food sector

There are many areas in the food industry where bulk purchasing, storage and handling of materials is needed. SAP systems did not offer solutions to this problem, but HostLogic Kft. does.

Regardless whether grain, milk or any other material is purchased in bulk, quality and quantity are hard to define for specific deliveries. Deliveries are often made on the basis of a general contract, without a specific order, but the merchandise needs to be monitored in such a way that can be interpreted by the SAP system. The system monitors the shipment from the time of its delivery and registration to storage. The process includes real time quick samples, and subsequent quality samples and evaluations for quality control purposes. A „bonus-malus” system can be coupled to the system, where three separate quality assessments can be taken into consideration in determining price. Documentation is prepared in the second stage in order to facilitate subsequent administration. Apart from standard SAP documents, a number of own documents can also be prepared in both printed and digital form. The full solution is deeply integrated into the SAP system without compromise. It can also be quickly tailored to the specific business processes of individual clients.

ABO Group has become major SAP user

By | News | No Comments

The ABO Group, having outgrown its old business management system, has chosen SAP solutions to modernize the management of its business processes. As a result of this investment, ABO has become one of the major SAP users in Hungary.

The Hungarian-based food processing company, which is also present in several other Central and Eastern European countries (namely, Ukraine, Romania, Slovakia and Serbia), deals with fodder and grain production, milling, and stock breeding. The ABO Group recently decided to introduce a new, up-to-date Enterprise Resourse Planning system, to coordinate its business and production activities and to unite the companies within the group. The holding chose HostLogic’s SAP All-in-One based food processing solution. A vitally integral part of the system, which was successfully launched in January, is the Special Food Processes Module developed by HostLogic. This module, which since its debut has been introduced to various other companies, covers the most important functions specially characteristic of food industry, from raw material purchases to the weighing of delivery vehicles, among others.

The new IT background has opened up new possibilities for the group which could not even have been thought of in the previous IT system. The precise segmentation of customers and sales, the careful administration and controllability of work processes, the previously inconceivable precision in the management of materials and stocks all have increased the productivity and marketability of the corporation, which will in turn have a beneficial effect on the activities of its partners and customers.

The most important aim of the introduction of the new system was to reach a high level of standardization and to increase efficiency. Each member company of the group brought with them their unique work systems and traditions; now, with the new SAP-system implemented, these companies can work together in a unified structure.
The unification of these member companies with their different traditions, dissimilar work processes and administrative phases, and their integration into the central system posed a serious challenge to the enterprise as a whole. One of the most important tasks of the introduction was to make about 250 employees as SAP users at the member companies accept the standardization of the processes. In spite of the diversity among the member companies, the implementation of the common template-based solution at the holding level was largely successful.

The system, which cost about 720,000 euros, is one of the most complex SAP-systems implemented in Hungary. Apart from providing a solution to the traditional tasks in business, billing, acquisition, and quality management, the system also covers stock and HR management, and production controlling; moreover, new data warehouse (BI) and CRM functions will be added in the first half of 2008. All of this points towards the development of a complete business intelligence system, which at the same time integrates best practices in international agriculture, food processing, and business management into the system of the corporation and its subsidiaries.
After the implementation is complete, the food processing group has become not only one of the major SAP users, but also one of the most up-to-date participants in the European food markets. Thus, the introduction of SAP at the ABO Group has provided unified and more efficient business processes and standardized administration for the whole organization, and has also made production more cost-effective.
